Osteopathic Manual Therapy
The practice of osteopathic manual therapy is conducted through the osteopathic assessment of anatomical deviations that are expressed by asymmetry, restriction of normal motion, tissue texture change and subjective complaints. These dysfunctional findings may effectively interfere with proper bodily function of some or all body systems. The treatment of these findings is through the application of osteopathic concepts and principles.
Manual Osteopathic Practitioners are educated and trained to work exclusively without the use of drugs or surgery by using hands-on manual methods for structural assessment and treatment.
“When an osteopath explores the human body for the cause of disease he knows he is dealing with complicated perfection. He must master anatomy and physiology and have a fairly good knowledge of chemistry; then he can reason from the effect to the cause that gives rise to the abnormal condition or disease."
- Andrew Taylor Still
"The first step in Osteopathy is the belief in our own body."
